New transition planning guide

SBC and the External Reporting Board (XRB) are pleased to share new guidance for staff involved in coordinating or leading the transition planning process in their organisation. The document covers the thinking and related business processes needed to develop a transition plan, as well as the drafting of the transition plan itself. Thank you to everyone involved in this project, and special thanks to Aurecon for offering significant expertise and support in developing the guidance.

   

Extreme atmospheric rivers could double in future climate  

New Zealand could face twice as many of the most extreme atmospheric rivers by the end of the century research by NIWA has found. Analysis of the frequency and intensity of atmospheric rivers under a relatively high greenhouse gas emissions future in climate projections released last year by NIWA and MOE has been published in the Journal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres.

   

Landing the Economic Case for Climate Action with Decision Makers Report

Investment in climate-change mitigation and adaptation to limit global warming to 2°C by 2100 would greatly reduce economic damage, and the cost of inaction is equivalent to 11% to 27% of cumulative GDP, says a new report issued by Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Cambridge Judge Business School, and the University of Cambridge’s climaTRACES Lab.

   

EVA Quarterly Renewables Market Report Q4

EVA Marketplace have released their Q4 2024 Renewables Market Report, providing insight into New Zealand’s renewables market and its contribution to net zero goals. The report explores EVA renewables tracker (ERT), power purchase agreement (PPA) and supply markets, energy markets, renewables projects, policy and regulation and global renewables.
