XRB consulting on transitional adjustments to CRD reporting regime

The External Reporting Board (XRB) will publish a consultation document exploring options for transitional adjustments to the Aotearoa New Zealand Climate Standards. Potential transitional adjustments to the regime include looking at easing certain requirements to allow time for improvements in data availability and quality. AMP makes first Global Climate Fund investment

AMP is pleased to announce the first private capital investment made by its Global Climate Fund as part of its partnership with BlackRock, funnelling USD $17.4m into two global solar companies. “These initiatives not only offer high-quality investment opportunities but also contribute to the critical transition to a low-carbon economy.”

   

Launch of Low Emissions Heavy Vehicle Fund (EECA)

Last week, EECA announced the launch of the Low Emissions Heavy Vehicle Fund, designed to support businesses to invest in vehicles that are cleaner and cheaper to operate. “Transport accounts for 18 per cent of New Zealand’s total emissions, which is why the Government wants to remove barriers and accelerate businesses to switch to lower-emission technologies."

CSF and Government announce new sustainable finance strategy

Last week, the Minister of Climate Change Hon. Simon Watts announced that the New Zealand Government is partnering with the Centre for Sustainable Finance (CSF) to develop a sustainable finance strategy for New Zealand, providing clarity on the Government’s priorities to increase the flow of capital for sustainable and transition opportunities.
