Government makes announcement on future of LNG | The Government has confirmed it will contract to build an LNG import facility which it says will support national energy security. With aims to sign a contract by the middle of 2026, the proposed Taranaki-based facility could begin receiving LNG in 2027 or early 2028. Read full details of the announcement here. | | | |

Landmark Kapuni Project reaches Financial Close | Hiringa Energy and its partners have achieved Financial Close for the Kapuni Project. This new initiative is Aotearoa NZ’s first large scale integration of wind, industrial renewable electricity supply, and green hydrogen production. Located in South Taranaki, the facility will produce green hydrogen that can be scaled in line with market growth. Read more here. | | | |

WM New Zealand Hits 3 Million Electric Truck KMs |
WM New Zealand has reached a major sustainability milestone, surpassing 3 million kilometres driven by its electric heavy vehicle fleet. Their rapidly growing fleet now includes 60 electric heavy vehicles, mostly built through in-house conversions, and has avoided nearly 5,600 tonnes of CO₂e since the programme began in 2016.
