Energy leaders kickstart Energy Transition Framework

SBC members, including Genesis, Contact, Mercury, Meridian, Powerco, Transpower and Vector, are part of 32 organisations who this week came together to officially launch the Energy Transition Framework. More than half of New Zealanders anxious about storms

IAG's latest in the Wild Weather Tracker shows that over half of all New Zealanders have experienced anxiety about storms and heavy rainfall, and 43% are concerned about flooding. Half of respondents are also concerned about earthquakes. Genesis opens New Zealand’s largest solar farm in Canterbury

Genesis and joint venture partner FRV Australia have opened the country’s largest solar farm to date in Canterbury. More than 90,000 solar panels on the 93-hectare site are now generating up to 100 GWh of electricity a year, enough to power nearly 13,000 households. The $104 million solar farm is the first to be developed by Genesis as part of its commitment to build up to 500 MW of solar capacity throughout New Zealand.

   
   
   

From hops to habitats

DB is helping restore a region of the top of the South Island by supporting a conservation project run by The Nature Conservancy Aotearoa New Zealand and the Kotahitanga mō te Taiao Alliance. DB has committed $130,000 towards accelerating riparian and wetland restoration within the Motueka and Moutere catchments in the Tasman District. Read more here.
