Flavour of the week: Nature. Executive Director Mike Burrell attended the inaugural Global Nature Positive Summit in Sydney this week and has shared some of his topline takeaways. SBC set out in its Annual Plan for 24/25 that it would aim to "accelerate the transition to a future that is zero emissions, resilient, and nature regenerative" through exploring potential nature collaborations. We are making progress with our commitment and would like to invite interested members to an online session next Thursday 24 October from 3:00-4:00pm to hear about next steps and how they can get involved. Government releases list of fast-track projects | Earlier this week, the Government announced the 149 projects listed on the Fast-track Approvals Bills' Schedule, which will be referred to Expert Panels for evaluation after the Bill becomes law. Of these projects, 22 are renewable energy, mainly solar, wind and hydro, and 43 are infrastructure (including rail and rapid transport). Read more here. | | | |
