Climate Change Commission advice on ETS limits and settings |
New evidence shows there are too many units in the NZ ETS for the Government to make best use of it to reduce emissions. This excess number of units presents a high risk that emissions budgets won't be achieved. Meridian to bring world's first electric hydro-foiling ferry to NZ | Meridian Energy has purchased a Swedish-designed electric hydrofoil ferry to transport its staff across Lake Manapouri to the hydro power station. The new ferry is expected to save $200,000 per year in fuel, maintenance, and carbon offset costs, as well as save 240 tonnes of carbon emissions each year. Learn more about the ferry here.
