Toyota NZ to phase out some diesel utes, replace with hybrids

As part of its plan to reduce emissions, Toyota NZ has confirmed it will only be offering mild-hybrid diesel engine options for Hilux models going forward, ditching the pure diesel alternatives permanently. "Toyota are committed to reducing our emissions and Hilux Hybrid helps us to do this, while still offering the capability that Hilux customers need."
